Luke 6:46 – ‘Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?’

Speaker:
Passage: Luke 6:43-49
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 6:43-49 | Speaker: Matthew Dalton | Series: Gospel Campaign – Spon End 2019 | In the eighth evening of Gospel Meetings, the speaker reads from Luke 6 and picks up the question asked by the Lord Jesus Christ; ‘Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?’.

In considering this question, the speaker preaches solemnly concerning the folly and error of so called ‘easy-believism’; those who might who call themselves Christians, do good works, believe in God, yet, have never experienced what it is to be ‘born-again’. Referencing various Scriptures, the speaker notes that whilst Salvation is ‘by grace’, ‘through faith’ and that ‘not of yourselves’ (Ephesians 2:8), evidence of true Salvation can be seen through a changed life; ‘by their fruits ye shall know them’ (Matthew 7:16).
