Psalm 107 – ‘The Lord who quickens the dead and heals the diseased’
Bible Text: Psalms 107:17-21 | Speaker: David Dalton | Series: Gospel Campaign – Spon End 2019 | Continuing the meeting, the speaker preaches from the third part of Psalm 107. In this section, the speaker suggests that it speaks of the Children of Israel in their spiritual sickness in the 400 silent years between the prophet Malachi and the Gospels. Noting that the cause of the Israelite’s affliction came from their transgressions and iniquities, the speaker reflects that the section starts with the word ‘fools’. The speaker therefore reflects upon the fools of Scripture noting the fool that rejects God, the fool that makes a mockery of sin and the fool that despises wisdom. After considering the ‘fools’ of Scripture and the darkness and depravity of sin, the speaker presents one; the Lord Jesus Christ, who is able to ‘quicken the dead and heal the diseased’. The speaker challenges the listener; have you had an encounter with Christ? Have you called on Him, just as the people did, and been delivered from your distresses?
