Bible Text: 2 Corinthians 4:5, 1 Corinthians 1:23-24, Acts 4:7-8, 10-14 | Speaker: Paul Didcott | Series: Gospel Campaign – Spon End 2019 | In the second part of the meeting, the speaker focuses his comments on the verse ‘We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord’. Whilst noting from other scriptures that preaching a crucified Christ is to them that perish foolishness, the speaker marks how contrary to the view of the world, the truth of the Cross of Christ would show how in seeming weakness, on a cross of shame, the Lord Jesus Christ conquered sin, crushed the serpents head and rose victorious the third day. Therefore, the speaker considers how the gospel of Christ is the ‘power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth’.
