Ephesians 1 – The Believers’ Blessings in Christ

Speaker:
Passage: Ephesians 1:1-14
Service Type:

Concluding the first session of the annual conference, Huw Rees (Carmarthen) explores the theme of the Believers’ Blessings in Christ as outlined in Ephesians 1. He highlights seven key blessings: Election (v4), Predestination (v5), Acceptance (v6), Redemption (v7), Revelation (v8), Possession (v10-11), and Regeneration (v13).

In introducing the subject, Huw draws the listener’s attention to two main features of the passage. First, he notes the involvement of the entire Godhead in administering these blessings: the Father (v3-6), the Son (v7-12), and the Spirit (v13-14). Second, he observes how the passage spans from eternity to eternity—beginning “before the foundation of the world” (v4) and concluding with “the redemption of the purchased possession” (v14). Ultimately, Huw encourages believers that the work God began for us in eternity past will be brought to full completion in the future.
