1 Corinthians 5:7 – ‘Christ our passover is sacrificed for us’
Bible Text: Exodus 2:23-25, 3:7-8, 6:4-8, 5:1-2, 10:3-4, 20-21, 27-29, 12:1-12, 1 Corinthians 5:7 | Speaker: David Dalton | Series: Miscellaneous Gospel Messages | Considering selective passages from the earlier chapters of Exodus (Chapters 2, 3 & 6), the speaker notes how when God saw the plight of the Israelites in Egypt under Pharaoh’s oppression, He heard their cry, knew their circumstances and acted in providing a deliverance.
Then, from Chapters 5 and 10, the speaker refers to the first and last pleas of Moses to Pharaoh, to let the Israelites free. He considers how Pharaoh’s hardened heart results with the final outcome that Pharaoh would never see Moses again.
The speaker highlights the simplicity of the Lord’s Passover, and the need for the sinner to simply obey the Word of God. Referencing 1 Corinthians 5:7, he considers how the Passover foreshadows the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary.
