Continuing the meeting, the speaker considers a parable of the Lord Jesus as recorded in Luke 14. He notes how there the Gospel is likened as unto a ‘great supper’. It is great because it comes from the God of Heaven, and offers a worldwide invitation. Going through the passage however, the speaker considers the variety of excuses made by the invited guests, for not coming to the supper. He notes how they could be summed up as Possessions, Business Interests & Family Ties. Those same things can also prevent a Sinner from coming into the good of God’s full and free Salvation.
