Continuing the subject of the “Church of the Living God”, Dan Rudge (Bracknell) considers essential principles that should be displayed in the local assembly; ‘Fellowship’, ‘Lordship’ and ‘Headship’. Developing the subject of fellowship, Dan helpfully distinguishes between “the church which is his body”, and the local church, marking how ‘life’ is the basis for fellowship in “the church which is his body”, whilst ‘light’ must be the basis for fellowship in the local church. Accordingly, he emphasises the significance of reception into a local assembly, and the need for agreement on doctrinal truth. Dan closes with a look at the principles of Lordship, and Headship, making practical comment for how these principles should be evidenced in the local assembly.
