The speaker notes that whilst there is little detail given, the Laver would speak to us much of the truth of Sanctification. The speaker marks how before the priests were able to do any service in the tabernacle, they had to first wash themselves at the Laver. The speaker considers how water through the New Testament would speak to us concerning the ‘Word of God’ (Ephesians 5) and the ‘Spirit of God’ (John 7). The speaker emphasises that the washing in view is not that which occurs at Salvation, but rather the continual washing required so that fellowship with Christ may be enjoyed to its fullest extent.
