Tabernacle Treasures – The Brazen Altar

Speaker:
Passage: Numbers 3:29, 31, Exodus 27:1-8
Service Type:

Bible Text: Numbers 3:29, 31, Exodus 27:1-8 | Speaker: David Dalton | Series: Morning Meditations | Continuing the studies in the tabernacle, the speaker considers the Altar of Burnt Offering; another item for which the Kohathites had responsibility. Reflecting upon its materials, the speaker notes how out of the materials that were used in the tabernacle furniture, Brass is the material that would most withstand the heat. The speaker marks how this would speak to us of the Lord Jesus Christ and His sufferings on the cross. The speaker also considers the grate work. He notes how at 1.5 cubits high, it is the same height above the ground as the mercy seat and as the table of Shewbread. The speaker notes how in reminding us of the grounds for reconciliation with God and for enjoying fellowship with Him, the altar would speak much of the Lord Jesus Christ and the work He accomplished at Calvary.
